Efficiency Rewards

NIPCO and its members encourage electric consumers to use energy wisely. The cooperatives and municipal electrics provide rebates and rewards for choosing efficient electric equipment, installing energy efficiency products and getting rid of old, energy-wasting devices.

There are rebates for installing geothermal heating systems, heat pumps and efficient water heaters. Building insulation and efficient lighting can earn rewards. Choosing certain efficient Energy Star-rated home appliances result in a rebate. And the cooperatives' recycling program for old, working appliances such as refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners helps members not only get rid of the eyesore but also earn $25 per appliance.
