NIPCO is seeking an individual to join our team as an IT administrator. This entry-level position offers the chance to grow and develop your skills in the utility industry. 

 

Role overview:

As an IT Administrator, you will play a crucial role in configuring, monitoring, managing, and securing our IT infrastructure. From servers and workstations to tablets and security systems, you’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our technology environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, monitor, manage, and secure servers, workstations, and tablets with various operating systems including Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.

  • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and replace operating systems and installed applications.

  • Utilize Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Office, Microsoft SQL, and web-based applications. 

  • Apply knowledge of networking technologies including routers, switches, VLAN, SD-WAN, BGP, and VPN to support our network infrastructure.

  • Configure, monitor, manage, and secure security systems such as firewalls, Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems, antivirus/malware solutions, and SIEMs. 

  • Assist in the configuration, management, and operations of workstations, printers, and other devices. 

  • Provide helpdesk assistance and support to end-users as needed. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred but not required. 

  • Knowledge, training, and/or experience in computers, networks, and related devices.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft technologies and applications. 

  • Understanding of networking technologies and protocols

  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Eagerness to learn and grow
