NIPCO Announces Academic Scholarship Recipients

NIPCO is proud to announce the recipients of our scholarship program for the 2025-2026 academic school year. These exceptional individuals have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills, and a solid commitment to their communities. We are honored to support their future endeavors and excited to see the positive impact they will have on the world.


Reece Spieler, son of NIPCO Chief Information Officer Steve Spieler and his wife, Denise.

Reece Spieler, son of NIPCO Chief Information Officer Steve Spieler and his wife, Denise, was awarded an $850 scholarship from NIPCO. Reece will graduate from Morningside University in May and plans to attend Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa, in the fall to pursue his goal of becoming a Chiropractor.


Lakin Brosamle is the daughter of Woodbury County REC Crew Foreman Dustin Brosamle and his wife Lindee.

Lakin Brosamle is the daughter of Woodbury County REC Crew Foreman Dustin Brosamle and his wife Lindee. In the fall, Lakin will be a Freshman at the University of South Dakota and hopes to major in psychology or communication sciences and disorders with her goal set on entering USD’s Occupational Therapy program. Lakin was awarded a $600 scholarship from NIPCO.


Hillary Ruschy is the daughter of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative Marketing Assistant Bobbi Jo Ruschy and her husband Neal.

Hillary Ruschy is the daughter of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative Marketing Assistant Bobbi Jo Ruschy and her husband Neal. Hillary will be a Sophomore at Iowa State University and is majoring in Kinesiology-Pre Physical Therapy. Hillary plans to attend a Graduate Program for Physical Therapy and work toward earning her Doctorate’s Degree. Hillary was awarded a $600 scholarship from NIPCO.


Sophie Thorson is the daughter of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative Foreman Jason Thorson and his wife Amber.

Sophie Thorson is the daughter of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative Foreman Jason Thorson and his wife Amber. Sophie will be a Freshman at Wayne State College in the fall and plans to study Interior Design. Sophie was awarded a $600 scholarship from NIPCO.
